The Texas Renaissance Festival

This page is established to show a little of the fun we have at the Texas Renaissance Festival each year.  Currently, we do not have costumes to wear, but we have a whole lot of fun instead.  We eat, drink, watch, interact, drink, party, laugh, walk (lots of walking), drink, and just have a lot of fun.  I have been going nearly every year since 1987.  As I said, lots of fun.

In addition, one of my best friend's brother was married at the TRF.  Cheers to you Robert and Jackie!

TRF 2000

This year we went on a weekend where it rain the proverbial buckets of water.  We tried to keep clean and dry with our$2 Wal-Mart ponchos, but we ended up stomping through the mud and water the rest of the day.  It continued to rain off and on all day, heavy each time.  In spite of it all, we had so much fun.  After a few beers, we didn't care anymore.  Thanks Gilbert, Holly, Roy, and Norma for sticking it out with us.

Ren2000-01.jpg (81559 bytes)  This is Nancy and I posing.  You can see the Mystery Tree on the left side of the picture.

Ren2000-02.jpg (45369 bytes)  Gilbert and Holly doing the same.  Notice how Gilbert's head actually fills the hole?!

Ren2000-03.jpg (39606 bytes)  Another fine set of friends, Roy and Norma.  Long time friends of Nancy's.

Ren2000-08.jpg (38463 bytes)  This is Gilbert showing everyone how to do it.  Gilbert rang that freaking bell every time.  That boy has some serious upper body strength.

Ren2000-07.jpg (41059 bytes)  This me, trying to show I have what it takes.  I rang the bell once, only once out of four tries.  At least I tried.

Ren2000-09.jpg (114320 bytes)  The next four images are of one of the flower gardens.  It was an extremely colorful display and the pictures don't do them justice.

Ren2000-12.jpg (119214 bytes)  This was a wild looking flower and very colorful.

Ren2000-13.jpg (46133 bytes)  Not sure how this guy managed to stay clean, but he did.
