The following text and images show the condition of the car when I was selling it. It wasn't perfect, but it was in great shape.
Engine: Rebuilt ~20k miles ago, no problems. Everything is stock BMW Euro M5 parts except cam gears, chain, and tensioner are from the Euro M3 parts bin. (10° of advance as opposed to the 8° for the M5.) This means a little less torque down low, but more power at the top. This was recommended by GmbH when I rebuilt the engine. #1 & 6 cylinders overbored 0.0005" at the suggestion of MetricMechanic. Fuel injectors were cleaned and flowed to ±5% I had the radiator cleaned then and flushed the oil cooler with cleaner as well. I replaced the AC compressor, high pressure hose, dryer, and low pressure switch, aux cooling fan, and converted to R-134a. Works fine and is quite cold. The DME still has the stock program, no JC chip. JC doesn't market a performance chip for the Euro models. Steve C. has a Euro 3.8 with a custom program from JC, but he's the only one I know who has.
Transmission: Resealed last year and filled with Redline. Seals on the differential were also done at the same time. Clutch master and slave cylinder replaced last fall. New clutch with rebuild
Suspension: Will need rear tires in a few months. Fronts were replaced because of excessive wear caused by worn tie rod ends. I replaced the tie rod ends and adjusting links in April and had it aligned. Rear subframe bushings were replaced last fall. Rear differential mount replaced 8/15/01 along with new sub frame bushings. Passenger side bushing developed a crack and was replaced under BMW parts warranty on 8/15/01.
Interior: The interior is immaculate. The inside has complete leather and has absolutely no marks, even the drivers seat. The only thing that isn't covered with leather is the top of the dash. The seats, seatbacks, door panels, kick panels, center console, and rear seat fold down are all leather. New factory radio with cassette and 6-disk CD in the trunk. Car was never smoked in and the lighter has never been used.
Exterior: The body only has one small dent (drivers door) that could be fixed with paintless dent repair. I just haven't gotten around to it with my school and travel. Front end has small chips, but I fill them with touch up paint so they aren't noticeable. Tail end repainted last fall after being bumped by a truck. I just cleaned the paint on the entire car 4/28/01. On 5/5/01, it will get 3-4 coats of Zymól. It will have a super deep shine and color then.
Recent work: Cleaned, and protected all engine management connectors, valve adjustment, and fuel pressure regulator. Inspection II completed and I still need to flush the coolant and brake fluid. That should be done in the next week. With that done, Inspection II will be completed by 5/12/01. Oil & filter will be changed 5/4/01. All Inspection II complete as of 7/3/01.
Unique Features: In addition to this car being unique because it is European model with the bigger 3.8 liter engine, this car also has other unique features. They are:
