This site is dedicated to the memory of:
Claudius Clyde the Boston Terrier (Boston Terrorist)
Yup, that's his name but I just call him Clyde or Dummy. Clyde is a pure bred Boston Terrier. He was born in November 1986 so he is getting up in age. you would think after 10+ years he would have grown up, but like me, he has never managed to. He shows signs of getting old, the right leg has a little arthritis and he has a face full of grey hair, but other than than he still romps around like a puppy. He likes to chew things up and so I have to be careful what is lying around on the floor. He likes to chase his toy ball and play tug-o-war with anyone. Once he locks down, there isn't much that will make him release. Clyde has tremendous jaw muscles and I have been bitten many times playing with him, so I know he's strong. To give you and idea, his neck is wider than his head. He's built like a min-fireplug. His collar will slip over his head easily which can be annoying when he doesn't want to go where I want him to.
He's been through a lot in his life. He's had numerous fights with dogs and cats, most of which he has actually won. He has absolutely no fear! I suspect that he doesn't have a brain so without a brain, no fear. I have seen him tangle with Dobermans, Shepherds, Chows, and he was even brave enough to go after Pete one day. Pete was a Pit Bull Terrier that live next door to me when I was in college. Pete didn't want to fight Clyde because it was no contest, so he just twisted around so Clyde could never got to anything but his rear. That gave me enough time to get there and separate them. That was the day Pete handed Clyde back his life. Click on the images to see a larger view
Well, it's been two years since I first made this page and Clyde is in his 14th year on the planet. He's lost about 60-70% of his eyesight due to a cornea injury in his left eye and a cataract in his other. He is loosing his hearing so loud claps and whistles are all he hears. He has arthritis which makes him a little slow moving.
August 6, 1999. Clyde passed away today from heart failure after a short battle with a heart valve problem. Basically, his heart was not strong enough to overcome the high pressure needed to circulate the blood his body needed. He was a trooper to the end. He never failed to greet me with a warm wet nose, love, and affection. I can truly say he will be remembered and missed a great deal.
"Are you talking to me?" Just Chillin'
